About the Speaker: Oakland attorney Richard A. Gutstadt has specialized in Social Security and SSI disability law since the mid-1970s. Over the years he has made numerous presentations concerning various aspects of disability to the Alameda County Law Library, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), and others. Mr. Gutstadt is on the Editorial Advisory Board of West’s Social Security Reporting Service.
From 1990 to 2017, he maintained a contract with Highland and Fairmount Hospitals representing uninsured Medi-Cal applicants in their claims for disability-linked Medi-Cal. For over 10 years, he has also pursued Third-Party Liability (TPL) insurance claims on behalf of Highland Hospital.
