The mission of the San Francisco Paralegal Association Community Service and Pro Bono Committee is to develop partnerships with attorneys, bar associations, community service organizations, and other nonprofit agencies to coordinate pro bono efforts and provide high quality support within the San Francisco and East Bay communities in serving socially and economically disadvantaged community members. Working closely as a team through a spirit of camaraderie, the Committee endeavors to promote equality, justice, and fairness by offering help to others in need.

Committee Members:  

The Membership Committee is responsible for maintaining membership information for the San Francisco Paralegal Association. This includes marketing the San Francisco Paralegal Association to prospective members, welcoming new members, and following up with inactive members. The Marketing and Membership Committee also handles all marketing and membership requests from sustaining members and vendors. 

The Sustaining Membership Chair is responsible for creating and cultivating relationships with current and new Sustaining members. To promote SFPA and the benefits of sustaining membership to potential vendors/companies/firms. To recognize sustaining members as a whole and those who go above and beyond in support of the organization as a whole.

Committee Charge / Mission Statement: To promote the highest standards of professional excellence and ethical conduct, by providing mentoring opportunities for both novice and veteran paralegals, within the legal community.



Chair- Amy McGuigan

Committee members: 

The MCLE committee’s ultimate responsibility is to meet the continuing education needs of the California legal community and to help paralegals work proficiently, competently, professionally, and ethically throughout their careers. SFPA is an approved multiple activity provider through the California State Bar, serving the legal profession throughout the state with consistent high-quality CLE offerings which are intended to meet the diverse needs of the state's paralegals and attorneys and be timely, practical, authoritative, of high quality, and reasonably priced.

The Blog encourages submissions from all members and invites Board Members to sign up for certain quarters. We would love to have you contribute if so desired. We are going to go with themes this year if possible so that certain issues have a flavor. However, we will take any contribution.   Email for more information.

Committee Charge / Mission Statement: Public Relations/Marketing/Website committee is responsible for crafting SFPA's marketing message as well as the marketing messages for the various causes it promotes. Develop a marketing strategy to promote the organization's mission and causes. Target potential volunteer workers to donate their time and skills on behalf of the organization. Keep existing members connected with the organization's mission and causes, which increases the likelihood that they will donate to future causes.
