Legal History of Prop 215 and Prop 64 Commercial Cannabis Markets

In 1996 Prop 215 known as the Compassionate Use Act was passed. It ushered in a movement that has culminated in the nation's fastest growing industry. Commercial adult-use cannabis is now available in 5 states with over 25 states having some form of medical commercial cannabis markets. This CLE hopes to provide a surface level foundation on the legal history of the medical and adult-use commercial cannabis markets in California.
