Recent Developments in Real Estate Law

Professors Christine Tour-Sarkissian and Roger Bernhardt join Professor Tim Iglesias to give their annual talk to the ACBA membership about the most recent developments in California real estate law from 2017. Attend to review recent important cases, and new laws now in effect relevant to real estate practice.

Speakers:

Roger Bernhardt, Golden Gate University School of Law

Professor Bernhardt is a leading authority on real property law in California. He has authored numerous attorney and student books and is editor of CEB’s California Real Property Law Reporter. Professor Bernhardt is past chair of the Legal Education Committee of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Section and former member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the California State Bar. He is a member of the American Law Institute, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

 

Tim IglesiasUniversity of San Francisco School of Law

Professor Tim Iglesias, an expert in housing and property law, has served on the USF law faculty since 2001. He is a frequent speaker and media commentator on housing issues. In 2015, he was appointed by Gov. Brown to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council, which drafts regulations to protect Californians from discrimination and and hate violence.

 

Christine Tour-SarkissianTour-Sarkissian Law Offices, LLP

Christine Tour-Sarkissian specializes in real estate law, both transactions and litigation. She has been in practice since 1985, and co-founded Tour-Sarkissian Law Offices, LLP in 1988. Christine is also an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University School of Law where she has taught real estate transactions, real estate litigation, real property, real estate commercial finance, and general civil litigation. She is co-author of “California Real Estate Cases 2000”, published by California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), and has written numerous articles on mediation, elder abuse, and TIC exchanges, in CEB’s California Real Property Law Reporter.
